FREE MANDARIN COURSE AT AMC COLLEGE KOTA KINABALU

Hello beautiful souls! 😊

I have always wanted to learn Mandarin since I was a kid. Pengaruh cerita cina.

One of the reason to be excited to enter Uni was to take Mandarin as a foreign language.
Unfortunately....my university (UKM) do not offer foreign language course as we are not located in the main campus in Bangi. I studied in UKM KL campus. So in Uni, I have been only learning English πŸ˜‚

Then I told myself, I'm gonna take the course in AMC college once I graduated since the duration for the course is 3 months, I didn't get to do it while studying.

By the way, I went to AMC after SPM as well, that's when I learned English course before I went to Matriculation.

After graduated in 2017, I applied for the course but never been called.
Last year I finally get a PIC contact number and it happened that I changed my phone number but did not update in the system. LOL.

Normally, it will take at least a year before you can get in due to limited number of participants per intake.

After 2 years of waiting, I finally went for a Conversational Mandarin course on 15 June - 21 August 2019.

Anddd the best part is it's FREE!
Not only the course is free, but there will be 1 meal allowance per day for the tea-break (I forgot the amount. I think it's RM 10 voucher).
By the end of the course, you will also receive a certificate~

How is it free?

The program is sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Innovation and the training provider is Advanced Business System Consultants Sdn. Bhd.

You can register for the course HERE

There are more language and IT certified course for free at AMC.

Check out their website at www.amc.edu.my

There are options for the class timing. I have chosen the weekend class.

Saturday: 1330-1800hrs
Sunday: 0900-1500hrs

Total course duration: 84 hours.

I was excited by the fact that I will go straight to my class after work ends at 1200hrs on Saturday. HAHAH. I love the feeling of being a part-time student.

If you are a student, of course there will be exam.

For this course:
-Mid-course progress test
-Final test
-Speaking skill will be assessed

This is the book that will be used for the class. But you are only eligible to get the book if you have attend the class for 5 times. Apart from this book, you will also get a dictionary.

Sorry for the bad photo quality. I'm not sure how it turned like that in the blog πŸ˜ͺ

One of the practice we had. I'm not good in this πŸ˜‚

We also do Chinese calligraphy

and do crafting like a kindergarten kids did

I really love this song but can't believe we have to sing the chorus for the final exam πŸ˜‚

Exam situation

My exam result~
Left- Mid test
Right - Final test

Lǎoshī said the mid test is kindergarten level and the final test is primary 2 level.
hahahahah
And of course me being me, I only studied for the exam the night before.

During our final class session, we had a calligraphy competition.
I didn't won, obviously.
This is the character η¦ fΓΊ which means fortune or good luck.

~My classmates~

We also had a farewell party and August birthday celebration during the last class but I don't have the photos.

Going for the class alone wasn't bad at all.
In fact, it was a really fun learning experience πŸ’›
I get to know new people and also learned new language.
I cherished the learning process throughout the class.

BUT please don't expect me to speak and understand Mandarin like a pro laaaa. hahah
I only study it for 84 hours belum lagi tolak masa main-main dalam kelas πŸ˜‚

Till then!

Penang Foodie

Hello beautiful souls πŸ’• Earlier this month I took a healing trip after hectic monthssss and months and months at work. I was so drained at a point that the only thing that would make me feel a little bit better was buying a flight ticket πŸ˜‚ Considering a cheaper option and familiar place, I booked flight to KL.  2 weeks after I bought my BKI-KUL (return), I bought KUL-PEN. It would be bored to be in KL for the whole 1 week. So I thought it is best to go to Penang.  Why Penang? 1. Foodssss 2. The return ticket KUL-PEN was only RM 88 3. Went to Penang once at my aunt's during Raya Haji but didn't get to explore the city. Dari last year tau simpan hajat nak g Penang. Refer reason no 1. I fly solo. Didn't bring any friend from KK with me. The perks of study for my Degree in KL is I know at least someone from all state in Malaysia πŸ˜‚ Syai (my UKM classmate) was the tour guide for my days in Penang as she work there.  We explore Penang with her ...
